DQs for "Fear in the Fields"

Your discussion assignment, after reading the series of articles in The Seattle Times titled "Fear in the Fields," is to explore together what you think Duff Wilson's discovery means. You should discuss these articles following out whatever themes seem important to you. Some questions you might consider discussing could include the following

  • Is Wilson's discovery an important one, do you think? Why or why not?

  • If you want to say that these fertilizer practices are wrong, what would be the basis for your saying that? Would your argument against this practice be primarily teleological or deontological?

  • Do you see any Human Rights implications concerning this practice?

  • etc etc

Please post your discussion of these articles in your seminar folder (i.e., Diane's seminar, Brian's seminar or Tom's seminar).
